Mr. Burrito in Ames

Mr Burrito is the best place in Ames to get a burrito! I have always left satisfied and full. The service is great and the food is even better!

Amazing family run establishment. Great food, prices, and employees. Always puts a smile on my face to come here. Highly recommend taking your service here. Personal favorite: nachos. They load on the toppings and queso - so delicious

Love this place, the food is not plain.... The meat itself has taste. The selections of hot sauce is great as well... Since they started to deliver it juat made them that much better. Burritos, tacos, nachos..... Its all good. They employees are very friendly and have great energy.

VERY Good Burrito! Beef, black bean , rice, cheese, lettuce, habernero sauce, onions, cilantro with a can of pepsi was 9ish. Burrito alone was 7 or so... So it has its competitors beat by taste, and value imho... only downside is street parking, a fence to chain bike to, obviously no wifi... outdoor seating too, also 1.50 delivery fee

This tiny little place delivers, which I still can't believe

Very poor service, the employee may have been having a bad day but she was very disrespectful. She then preceded to overcharge me for my burrito and when I questioned her she said the menu had the wrong prices. The menu was a screen and easily could have been updated. I had suspected I was being overcharged in the past and the one time I actually pay attention to price they tried to charge me an extra dollar. I am sure they often try to take advantage of customers on popular bar nights. I will never go back there and I advise everyone to pay attention to the total they are charged. A dollar is not significant, but out of principle I will never again give those crooks my business. Small businesses should be built on integrity, Mr. burrito certainly is not. I will never again recommend Mr. burrito to a friend. Very disappointed

The only reason to choose Fighting Burrito over Mr Burrito is if you're taking advantage of the 2-for-1 online deal. Everything else is better here. Burritos are cheaper, they have more options, and the food tastes better at Mr Burrito

If you want authentic mexican food in ames come here. Comparatively, La Fuente and Azteca are Americanized. Don't even bother getting a burrito here, stick with the tacos, they're sooo good.

Please please add an "Order extra hot sauce" section. I asked for extra hot sauce in the comments and received only 1 half cup total with my online order. I would gladly pay for the extra salsa picante. I would rather have your homemade sauces than to use Tapatio. Food is good by the way.

Mr. Burrito easily has the best burritos and tacos in Ames. The ingredients are always so fresh and there's always someone there cooking so the food doesn't sit out for a long time like at some places. The service is also 5 star and the employees are great. The prices don't seem to be any more than other places near by. Definitely my favorite place to eat, especially close to campus.

We try to make it to Mr. Burrito at least once a week. Never, i repeat never lets us down. Great service, great food, good price.

It is by far the best Mexican place in Ames. I would actually say it is the best Mexican I have eaten in a long long time! I just love this place! It is a must go! Try the Tacos Al Pastor!!!! Heaven!

This is always the go-to option when looking for a large meal, decently priced. Compared to other local burrito places, this one is by far the best. It's a small family owned and run operation featuring classic burritos and tacos, as well as some more authentic Mexican choices including lengua and tripa. They are looking to improve their business all the time with things such as homemade horchata (made daily) and pairing with other local businesses to sell cupcakes (though I haven't seen the display out lately, so they may have had to stop for some reason). This is a hole-in-the-wall type place with amazing food and a good staff.

I don’t come here often enough. The food is always good, even when it’s busy, it’s not. You wait in line for maybe 5 minutes, in fact, I’m typing this as I got here, and I’m ordering now. It’s fast, it’s good, go here whenever you can. I had 10 minutes before the bus got here and still made it on the bus.

Fast, simple, and authentic enough. I always love a trip to Mr. Burrito. It's one of the few things I miss most about Ames.

This place has the best burritos/nachos! It has saved me several times from poor choices at ISU tailgates and it is always delicious. Don't expect a fancy place, it's very simple. But for me, it's all about the food. Amazing, fast, and fair priced. Love it.

Having been around, I would have to say that Mr. Burrito makes the best mobile burritos in Iowa. The only place I have ever eaten at that was better is Mi Pueblo Royal in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and they are a sit down restaurant!

This is as authentic as it gets in the Ames area. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is very friendly! Also, if you're craving some horchata they make it in-house.

I eat here everyday after classes because the location is very convenient for students and most importantly, the food is great.

Mr Burrito is super delicious and authentic Mexican food. I tried the burrito bowl and was not disappointed! The meat, beans, and rice had good flavor and the toppings were very fresh. I also had the horchata as the drink. So good! I will definitely be coming back to try other menu items.

True Mexican food, worth every penny. Their tacos are great. But, their nachos are the best of the best.

If you want quality, then choose Chipotle. Otherwise if you like meat that's loaded with preservatives and guacamole with a diarrhea-like texture then this place is for you!

So far, I've ordered the burrito, quesadilla, nachos, and tacos. I have yet to find better Mexican food in Ames than Mr. Burrito. Have frequented this place since they opened and the food keeps bringing me back.

This has been a go-to place for me for 4 years now and I know I'll be missing it when I leave Ames. Excellent food and atmosphere, extremely friendly owners. Place is a little small, but so is every restaurant in that area. Great location and awesome food. Personally, my favorite is a quesadilla with jalapeño sauce.

I don't know how I missed this place before, but I will be coming back. I had a veggie burrito with the creamy medium salsa and it was outstanding!

As a Texas Native, it's been a struggle going to school in Iowa due to a general lack of ingredients and foods I grew up on. Luckily, Mr. Burrito captures the flavors perfectly and gives me a brief respite from the more typical American foods.

Hands down the best burrito place in Ames. Its an authentic Mexican burrito place, so you get the best food. I believe it's owned by a small family and they do a fantastic job running the place. I just wish they would be open longer on some of the days.

This restaurant is hands down my absolute favorite Mexican joint in Ames. The ingredients are fresh, the meat is perfectly moist, and when they tell you the salsa is hot, expect your face do receive a proper scorching. Add to that their generous servings at reasonable prices, and you get a combination that makes it hard to not eat here.
